CCSD Students Win Gold in Winter State Special Olympics

The Cherokee County Special Olympics Unified Basketball Team.

Cherokee County School District students won gold in the Special Olympics 2026 State Indoor Winter Games!

The unified basketball, traditional basketball, ramp bowling, and traditional bowling teams all earned gold medals at the statewide competition recently held in Cobb County.  The unified basketball team, which is made up of Olympians and peer helper partners, is advancing to compete at the Special Olympics USA Games in Minnesota this June!  Congratulations to our students, their coaches, and Cherokee County Special Olympics volunteers and sponsors, and thank you to our School Board for its longtime support of our partnership to ensure our students learn more, grow more, and achieve more!
