CCSD Students Advancing to Young Authors State Competition

Five Cherokee County School District students are advancing to the state level of the Young Georgia Authors Writing Competition!

The annual statewide writing contest is open to students in grades kindergarten through 12 and strengthens literacy by encouraging writing in a variety of genres.

Congratulations to our district and region winners and their teachers!  Thank you to our School Board for its increased focus on literacy and investment in ensuring our students are learning more, growing more, and achieving more in our classrooms than they could anywhere else.

Each CCSD school submits a top entry for each grade level to compete at the district level.  District first-place winners advance to regional competition, and its winners then compete statewide.  The five region first-place and four region honorable mention winners will be recognized at a reception hosted by North Georgia Regional Education Service Agency.
