Chess Club  6th, 7th, 8th  Jessica Hunter  Fall, Winter, Spring *2 times/monthly (AM) Permission Form The purpose of the chess club is to teach students to play chess and chess strategies, along with developing critical thinking skills.

Fall & Winter (1st semester)  Nomination Information Packet The CCSD Academic Bowl is a timed competition designed to encourage academic achievement. At the middle level, competition is open to students in grades 6-8.
Drama Club 6th, 7th, 8th  LaCinda Adamson Fall & Winter Drama Club Agreement Form A club designed to allow students a chance to act in one production a year in order to showcase their talent and hobby. It also allows students to be able to participate in stage crew, prop crew, production photography, videography, and front of house for the production in order to allow students who would rather do behind the scenes work to make the production possible.

Fall, Winter, Spring Application  & Teacher Recommendation Friends Club allows students the opportunity to engage with peers in the Achieve or Reach Special Education classroom where they provide peer modeling for socialization, communication, and functional academic skills. 
WMS Yearbook Club  7th, 8th  Stacy Henderson Fall, Winter, Spring *Tues. (AM) Once a month. 8:15-8:50 WMS Yearbook Application Students chosen for the staff will be able to expand their knowledge in technology, graphic arts, writing, interviewing, and additional media production skills. 
National Jr. Honor Society 6th, 7th, 8th  Stephanie Vidrine Fall, Winter, Spring *Tues. (AM) Once a month. 8:15-8:50 Nomination Information Packet The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship and helps middle-level students develop the knowledge and skills to become well-rounded student leaders in their school, community, and beyond.
Science Fair 6th, 7th, 8th  Jessica Pinkston Spring & Fall Permission Form A forum for students to showcase their original research, compete for awards, and interact with top-level professional scientists. The science fair system in Georgia serves not only to recognize students for their achievements, but also to prepare students to succeed and flourish in an increasingly complex and highly technical world by becoming problem solvers, critical thinkers, reflective learners, and more productive and influential members of their communities.

Social Studies Fair 6th, 7th, 8th  Brigette Evangilista Fall Permission Form Local, regional and state social studies fairs annually present exhibitions of student work from grades 5- 12. Each project is designed to show research and conclusions about the study of people and their relationships to their physical and social environment.
Spelling Bee 6th, 7th, 8th  Heather Burke Fall   Spelling bees offer an opportunity for students to exhibit their proficiency in the art of spelling
