The Cherokee County School Board at its regular meeting on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, reviewed plans to further improve safety and security, including the planned installation of bus stop-arm cameras to catch drivers illegally passing stopped school buses. The board also reviewed the latest independent audit of CCSD’s finances, which marks the 12th consecutive year of clean audit reports with no findings.
The Cherokee County School District has started a new tradition: an annual erg indoor rowing competition! The special event, which gave middle school students the opportunity to compete for individual and team medals, is the latest success for a PE program started in 2023 with a nationally competitive grant.

Woodstock Middle School seventh-grader Eden Amosa is the Cherokee County winner and the regional runner-up for the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District’s 24th annual essay contest open to all metro Atlanta middle schoolers.
