It’s National School Custodian Day!  Please join us in thanking our amazing school custodians for all they do to keep our schools safe and clean for our students, teachers and staff, volunteers, and visitors.  They help set the conditions for student success!  

Congratulations to the school and division winners for our ninth annual Support Staff Employees of the Year Awards!  Award winners are selected by their school or division colleagues, and everyone who works in a support role is eligible for the honor -- from school nurses to front office staff to paraprofessionals to cafeteria staff and many, many more people critical to our successful operations.

Strike up the band!  Our annual CCSD Marching Band Exhibition, featuring all our high school marching bands’ competition shows, is Monday, Oct. 12, at Etowah HS. Gates open at 5 p.m. with the National Anthem, featuring chorus students from Etowah Zone schools, beginning the performances at 6 p.m.  

The Cherokee County School Board, at its regular meeting on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, officially launched its new community-built five-year strategic plan, Elevate 2032, and recognized the community members who served on the plan’s steering committee. The Board also heard a report on the development of a districtwide plan to further improve literacy instruction and outcomes across the district and a report on the upcoming auctions for equipment and memorabilia from the former Cherokee High School campus and appointed a School Nutrition director.
